I AM was founded in Dubai in 2022 by Argentine-Italian
creative Mia Pereyra Matteazzi, born from a personal
journey through fashion, movement and identity.
After spending more than a decade working
internationally as a model, Mia experienced
fashion from the inside, constantly moving between
cities, cultures and different versions of herself.
That life shaped the idea behind I AM: clothing that
adapts to the person wearing it, rather than defining them.
Rooted in her Argentine heritage and shaped by years abroad, Mia developed a visual language built around contrasts:
masculine and feminine, raw and refined, structure and movement, simplicity and the unexpected.
The result is a wardrobe of oversized silhouettes, deconstructed tailoring and elevated essentials: pieces that appear
simple at first, but reveal their identity through proportion, construction, raw finishes and subtle twists.
What began as Mia’s creative vision evolved when Azul
González Aparicio joined I AM, bringing a complementary
perspective to the brand. Mia and Azul share Argentine
roots, an international outlook and the ambition to build I
AM beyond clothing. While Mia leads the creative universe,
design and image of the brand, Azul brings structure,
strategy and business development, transforming an
instinctive creative project into a growing international company
Together, they represent two sides of I AM: creativity and
structure, intuition and strategy, identity and evolution.
From its beginnings in Dubai, I AM has grown through
concept stores, international fashion weeks, presentations
and markets across the Middle East and Europe. Yet the
philosophy remains the same.
The name is intentionally unfinished.
It represents identity without permanence: who you are
today, who you are becoming, and the freedom to
change without losing yourself. Designed between
cultures and made for movement, I AM creates a modern
modular wardrobe that can travel between places,
occasions and identities.
I AM is not about telling you who to be.It is about giving
you the space to define it yourself.
